Hello, I'm Taryn Strong, co-founder of the SHE RECOVERS® Foundation—a nonprofit dedicated to connecting, supporting, and empowering women on their recovery journeys. My story is one of personal triumph over adversity, and I share it as a beacon of hope for all those navigating recovery in various aspects of their lives.

My own recovery journey has been a profound exploration of resilience. I've faced and overcome substance use (cocaine and crystal meth addiction at age 16), trauma, disordered eating, self-injurious behavior, codependency, and the underlying emotions that manifested as these challenges - shame, low self-worth, low self-esteem, and a fear of using my voice. Today, I stand as living proof that every heartbreak, addiction, and trauma can be transformative, shaping a resilient spirit that leads with the heart.

At the core of my work, I am a Somatic Practitioner and Somatic Recovery Coach. I believe that true healing must include the body - that recovery is not only a mental or spiritual process, but also a physical one. So often our nervous systems hold the imprints of trauma, stress, and survival. Through somatic practices, I support others in coming home to their bodies, releasing patterns of fear or self-protection that no longer serve them, and expanding their capacity to feel safe, present, and alive. This body-based approach is deeply personal to me, because reconnecting with my own body after years of disconnection has been one of the most profound aspect of my recovery.

Alongside this somatic foundation, I am a Certified Aromatherapist, AromaPsychologist, Community Herbalist, Recovery Coach, and Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor. I've cultivated a holistic recovery practice steeped in ritual, ceremony, yoga, and the transformative potency of essential oils and aromatherapy.

As the founder of Moonlore Botanical Perfumery, I am in awe of the power of scent and its ability to support us emotionally and psychologically. I also have had the honour of being an instructor for The School of Aromatic Studies - guiding others to become Certified Aromatherapists through our online program.

Since I began teaching yoga in 2007, I've led over 65 women’s recovery retreats, presented at major conferences, and co-taught alongside luminaries like Elena Brower and Gabor Maté. I'm particularly proud to lead the SHE RECOVERS Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor certification program.

Beyond my work in the recovery space, I'm also a certified Trauma of Money Facilitator, guiding impact-driven entrepreneurs to rewrite their money stories, step into their power, fulfill their purpose, and create prosperity. I curate transformational experiences online and in person through my group and private mentorship offerings.

I live with my beloved Syd and our son Flynn within the ancestral and unceded traditional territory of the Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples on Salt Spring Island, embodying gratitude and acknowledgment of the land's history.

In every endeavor, I aim to illuminate the path to recovery, reminding others that resilience is born from embracing our unique journeys and leading with the heart. My life's work is an invitation for everyone to discover their individualized pathways, a testament to the transformative power of embracing our authentic selves.
