In 2011, my mother Dawn Nickel and I started a Facebook page called She Recovers in order to encourage engagement and conversation around the ideas that we are all recovering from something, that we need to be supported to find and follow individualized pathways and patchworks of recovery, and that self-care is integral to our recovery.
We didn’t know at the time that we were launching a modernized women’s recovery movement, but that’s what happened.
Today, we are so grateful for the thousands of women who have been a part of the conversation, the growing movement and now – our nonprofit organizations in both Canada and the United States. Please consider joining us. We need you.
